There’s no doubt that business networking is a great way to increase your business visibility. There are lots of different type of networking events around these days, including a growing trend towards women-only networking. There are many good reasons for this, as women only business events can offer some unique advantages that can help women in their professional journeys.
When co-founders of Small Business Vibes, Claire Baker and Colette Bratton founded Small Business Vibes as a female networking group, they wanted to create a safe and supportive environment where women could freely express themselves and feel empowered. Women business networking events can sometimes feel less intimidating than mixed-gender meetings, especially for those women who are new to networking. Claire and Colette wanted to create an environment that fosters confidence and encouraging women to speak up, share ideas and be able to confidently talk about their business – then, be able to pass this confidence onto to other women to inspire them to aim higher.
Being surrounded by other female entrepreneurs who have navigated similar challenges and achieved success in their fields can be extremely motivating. When women get together to talk about business, much practical advice and inspiration is shared, especially from those who have navigated similar hurdles or run similar businesses.
Networking with other women also creates a strong sense of community and camaraderie. These connections often go beyond professional networking, evolving into personal support systems, where mutual understanding and shared experiences are common. Women-only networking events also provide a platform to discuss mutual challenges openly, such as work-life balance, running a business whilst the kids are off through the long summer holidays, and how to deal with clients who take too long to pay.
At Small Business Vibes, we don’t just run events that are exclusive to women in business. Small Business Vibes events are exclusive to women business owners, because there’s a big difference between being a female employee and a female entrepreneur. Every application to attend a Small Business Vibes networking event is manually checked to ensure everyone who buys a ticket does actually run their own business – even if it’s just a sideline to employment at the moment with a view to developing the side-hustle into a full-time enterprise eventually.
If you’ve not experienced the joy of attending a Small Business Vibes networking event yet, why not come along. Just check out the events page for details of our upcoming women business networking events – both online networking and in-person.
